About the Pastor,
Pastor: Sushanta Tripura Shanta
Evangelical Reform Church
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
I am Sushanta Tripura Shanta, the Pastor of the Evangelical Reform Church, where I have been joyfully serving since 2015. Our church was founded in 2019 with a clear mission: to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to those living in darkness, far from the knowledge of God's saving grace.
From the very beginning, our calling has been to step beyond our comfort zones—into remote villages, hills, and the hardest-to-reach places—to bring the light of Christ to areas where hope seems lost. We reach out to the forgotten, the frustrated, the depressed, the widows, and the youth burdened by hopelessness and temptation.
The Word of God assures us:
> “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.” — Isaiah 9:2
Through every outreach, home fellowship, and gospel mission, our aim is to let this light shine brightly. We believe that only Jesus Christ can heal the brokenhearted, restore the weary, and bring peace to troubled souls.
As a servant of God, I have witnessed His transformative power—men and women finding faith, families being restored, and young people discovering their purpose in Christ. We stand firmly on the foundation of the Holy Scriptures, proclaiming:
> “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts.” — Zechariah 4:6
Dear friends, wherever you are reading this, know that God loves you deeply. No matter how distant you may feel from Him, His arms are open wide. We invite you to join us on this journey of faith—to grow together, worship together, and serve together for the glory of God.
May the Lord bless you and strengthen your faith, and may His light always shine upon your life.
In Christ’s Service,
About Our Founder: Josen Tripura
In the remote hills of Bangladesh, where roads are rough, schools are few, and hope is a fragile thing, a man named Josen Tripura began a journey that would touch hundreds of lives. In 2020, guided by God’s call, he founded the Evangelical Reformed Church — not as a building, but as a living ministry of compassion, service, and faith.
From the very beginning, Josen’s mission was clear: to reach the unreached, care for the forgotten, and bring hope to the hopeless. He walked barefoot along narrow paths to remote villages, carrying not only the Word of God but also practical help — food, medicine, and educational support. Many of these communities had never seen a school, a doctor, or even a simple bed.
One of the most moving stories from his ministry is of Rina, a young orphan girl in a tiny hillside village. She had never gone to school and spent her days helping her elderly grandmother collect firewood. Her eyes, full of curiosity, had never been given a chance to learn or dream. When Josen visited her village, he promised a place for her to study and live safely. Today, Rina attends school, sleeps in a hostel with proper beds, eats nutritious meals daily, and is learning about God’s love — a future she never imagined possible.
Another story is of Karim, a man stricken by illness and abandoned by neighbors due to his inability to work. Josen didn’t just bring medicine; he spent hours praying with Karim, comforting him, and arranging support until he could regain strength. “I felt God’s love through him,” Karim said with tears in his eyes.
Josen Tripura’s work extends to 30 or more orphaned and underprivileged children, ensuring they have chairs to sit on, fans to stay cool, electricity to study at night, and teachers who guide both their hearts and minds. In villages without hospitals or schools, he has created opportunities that were once unimaginable.
Yet his journey is not just about physical support; it is about walking alongside people. He visits the sick, comforts the grieving, trains new believers, and teaches entire communities about faith, hope, and love. He believes that ministry is not about distance, prestige, or recognition — it’s about humility, compassion, and the willingness to serve, even when it’s inconvenient.
Since 2020, Josen has built a ministry that is deeply relational. He doesn’t just give aid; he listens, understands, and invests in people’s lives. Whether it’s helping a student buy books, supporting a family with food, or providing a bed for an orphan, every act reflects a deep conviction: God calls us to serve the least, the last, and the lost.
Through his tireless efforts, Evangelical Reformed Church has become a beacon of hope in some of the most isolated areas of Bangladesh. Families once abandoned now receive care, children once without education now have opportunities, and communities once forgotten now experience the tangible love of God.
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” — Micah 6:8
Today, Josen Tripura continues his mission with the same humility and passion he had in 2020. Every journey, every visit, every prayer, and every act of service is a testimony of God’s love in action. His life reminds us that true ministry is not about where you start, but how faithfully you walk with God and serve His people.
Through his vision and leadership, countless lives have been changed, and the story of the Evangelical Reformed Church is still being written — one child, one family, one village at a time.
